Rita’s Wedding Photography FAQ

What is your photography style?

I love vibrant color.  I wear bright color clothes and occasionally bright makeup.  My photos are no different.  I anticipate the spring and summer all winter long because I love the look of the bright blue sky and the green grass. It is my goal that my photos reflect my love for bright color.  I shoot a combination of romantic poses, crisp and clear details, and photojournalistic moments.  Even though I have a love for bright color, I also enjoy Black and white, Sepia, Cold Tone, Selenium and other tonal adjustments.

You are relatively new on the scene – are you experienced?

I have been working with cameras in one way or another for *gulp* 22 years.  I started in high school, where I trained in film cameras and development (35mm, Medium format Mamiya and Rollei cameras and more).   I decided to make photography my sole occupation (instead of a part-time one) when I moved to Wisconsin.  Along with this decision,  I decided to move to a digital setup due to the declining availability of film products, and the digital resolution catching up with film.  I will still occasionally rock out with my 35mm Canon EOS-1 or my vintage Rolleiflex camera on occasion.

Nerd Alert!  What is your Current Gear Setup?

My current cameras:

• 2 Canon 5D Mk2's
• 2 Canon 40D's
• 2 70-200 f2.8L IS USM lenses
• 2 50mm 1.4's
• a 100mm f2.8L Macro Lens
• Sigma 15mm f1.2 Fisheye
• and more lenses and backup lenses.

I bring an Apple iMac to every shoot for backup and display purposes.

Lighting:

• On-Camera –  Canon 580 EX 2's and Canon 430 EX Flashes
• 2 Alien Bees 800's and 2 Alien Bees 400's Strobes, Stands, Gels, Softboxes, Snoots and "all that Jazz"
• 2 Lowel ID Lights and Bescor Batteries
• Reflectors and Accesories

I have other gear and equipment not mentioned here, but this is mostly what readers are looking for as far as a gear list goes.

What will you wear to my Wedding?

I wear a formalwear outfit to your wedding – usually dark in color and featuring slacks.  My second photographer is my husband Wil, and he will wear your choice of a suit or tux.
