Shooting Weddings – Are you crazy?
There are a lot of photographers out there. A lot of them are good. Why am I doing this? Isn't the market already flooded? For me there is a single photo which motivates me to be a photographer. It's not a famous photo. It wasn't even shot by a great rockstar photographer.
It's a photo of my parents at their wedding in 1956.
I spent hours staring at it as a child. I imagined what it would be like to be there. What did the world look like then? My Mom was so pretty that day. I didn't know my Dad's hair was so Curly! The church was fascinating with all its architecture. Who are the people looking at my parents?
I want to take the photos that your family (and perhaps your children!) will stare at, and experience the wonder and history of the moment – all at the same time.
Times have changed, styles have changed, but the ideals are the same. I believe in marriage. My parents' marriage was the foundation of my whole childhood. Marriage is an important milestone in my own life. It is the love, the commitment, the dedication and the faith of believing in a life together with my husband that gets me through my life's trials. It is more than a job for me. It truly is a privilege for me to document and witness one of the most special times in our lives.
